Comparison for 1,000 domains
| Tool | Free tier | Price basis (source) | Cost for 1,000 domains |
|---|---|---|---|
| Hunter | 50 credits a month | Starter $49 a month ($34 billed yearly) for 2,000 credits; Growth $149 ($104 yearly) for 10,000. 1 credit per email found, 0.5 per verification. Credits reset monthly and do not roll over. | 1,000 credits if each domain returns one email: 1,000 x ($34 / 2,000) = $17 billed yearly, $24.50 monthly. Half of Starter's monthly credits. |
| Outscraper Emails and Contacts Scraper | First 500 domains free | $3 per 1,000 domains from 501 to 100,000; $1 per 1,000 above 100,000. Pay as you go, no monthly fee; credits do not expire. Returns emails, phones and social profiles. | 500 free + 500 x $0.003 = $1.50 |
| Snov.io | 50 credits a month on trial; bulk search and export not included | Starter $39 a month list for 1,000 credits; its FAQ states 3.9 cents a credit on Starter | About $39 if one credit covers one lookup (the page does not state the per-domain credit cost) |
| Data Gleaner Website Contact Details Scraper (ours) | Apify Free plan: $5 of usage a month | $0.002 per website where at least one email is found; none otherwise | $1.20 if 600 sites publish an email, $2.00 if all 1,000 do |
What differs besides price
- Hunter returns named people, a confidence score and verification, and bundles sequences. That is what you pay for. Outscraper and ours read what is published on the company's site.
- Outscraper bills per domain whether or not an email is found (the pricing page does not say otherwise), and has a long track record. It is cheaper per 1,000 than Hunter on the figures above and has a free first 500.
- Ours charges only for hits, but does not verify deliverability, does not infer addresses that are not on the site, and has 56 users on its Apify listing against far larger bases elsewhere. Test 20 of your own domains first. A real five-site run, misses included, is in find business emails from a list of websites.
When each is the right pick
- Stay on Hunter if you need a named decision maker or verified addresses, or you use its outreach tools. Nothing here replaces that.
- Outscraper if you want a one-off pull of under 500 domains for free, or a large pull with no subscription.
- Ours if you only pay when an address is found and a published role address (info@, sales@) is enough. If it is not, we are the wrong choice.
The broader question of when to leave Hunter at all is in Hunter.io alternatives: when you need more than domain search. Longer price breakdown: cheapest way to find company emails from domains. Check your target country's rules on unsolicited email before sending.
