Keencrest guides

Removal requests

Data Gleaner builds data tools that run on Apify, and Keencrest publishes these guides. Some of our tools read public posts and profiles from social networks, for example Bluesky. If you do not want your account or posts returned by our tools, you can ask us to remove them.

How to ask

  1. Email datagleaner@gmail.com with the subject "Removal request".
  2. Tell us the platform and your handle or account ID (for Bluesky, your handle or DID is enough). You do not need to send ID.
  3. We add the account to a blocklist that our tools load at the start of every run, within 30 days and usually within a few days, and we reply to tell you it is done.

What we keep

For each request we keep a dated record of who asked (the handle or ID and your email), what we did and when we answered. We keep it so we can show a platform or a regulator that the request was handled. We use it for nothing else.

A faster option on Bluesky

In the Bluesky app you can switch on "discourage apps from showing my account to logged-out users". Our Bluesky tool honours that setting on every run.

What we cannot do

We do not hold the results of other people's runs. Each person who runs one of our tools on Apify holds their own results and is responsible for them. Removing you from our blocklist-driven tools stops new runs from returning you; it does not delete rows someone already saved. If you tell us about a specific run, we will pass your request on through Apify where we can.
