Company names to business emails (bulk): 11 of 20 names, $0.04 measured
You have company names, from a conference list or an export, and nothing else. To write to a company you first need its website, then a mailbox the company publishes. This guide chains two Actors so one run does both, shows what a small run actually returned, and says plainly what it does not do.
The chain
- Company Domain Finder turns each name into the official website: $0.0008 per website found, names not found are free.
- Website Contact Details Scraper reads each site's contact, about and legal pages and returns the emails and phones the site itself publishes: $0.002 per site where an email is found, sites without one are free.
You do not have to wire them. Put the names in the contact scraper's companyNames field, one per line (add a country after a comma where you have it), and it runs the domain finder on your own Apify account first, then scans the sites it found. The two are billed separately, so one name that ends with an email costs $0.0028.
A measured run: 20 names
On 2 November 2026 we ran 20 companies of mixed size, mostly European (Germany, the Netherlands, France, Poland, Switzerland, Sweden, Denmark and the UK), with companyNames and euRoleOnly set to true (run R8ArxMp2lBFgE7yae; the website step was run ZZ2RsF0k8WeWShr8x on build 0.7.6). It took 2 minutes.
| Step | Result |
|---|---|
| Names in | 20 |
| Websites found | 19 (one name, a software company with a common name, was not found and cost nothing) |
| Sites with a company email returned | 11 of the 19 |
| No email on the site | 4 (the site publishes a contact form or none; returned free with the contact-page link) |
| Site refused automated access | 3 (a bot check; the Actor reports it as blocked and does not work around it) |
| Rate limited by the site | 1 (try again later) |
The run's charges at list price were 19 websites at $0.0008 and 11 sites with an email at $0.002, together $0.04 for 20 names, or about $1.86 per 1,000 names at this hit rate. Platform usage for the two runs was under a cent. The 11 emails were company mailboxes such as info@, hello@, press@ and support@, not people's addresses. This is one small sample of well-known companies; small local firms have a lower website hit rate (see the website-finding guide) and many publish only a form.
Privacy settings to use
- Set
euRoleOnlyto true. For sites on EU, EEA, UK and Swiss domains the rows then keep only generic company mailboxes such as info@ or post@; first-name work addresses are left out. - Danish (.dk) sites never return emails, whatever the setting, and neither do rows with a +45 phone; their website and phone are kept. In the sample, the two names given as Danish companies resolved to .com sites, so the .dk rule did not apply to them.
- Free webmail and first.last@ style personal addresses are left out of every row in every country, and are not billed.
What this is not
- It finds where a company publishes its contact mailbox. It does not verify that a mailbox exists (it checks the domain takes mail), and it guesses nothing.
- Whether you may email an address is your decision under the law of the recipient's country, and rules differ by country and by recipient type. The Actors give you the published mailbox and its source page; they do not give you permission to send. Check the rules for your case before any outreach.
- A generic mailbox is the company's, but a message to it may still be covered by marketing and data-protection rules in some countries.
Steps
- Open the contact scraper on Apify and press Try for free.
- Paste the names into
companyNames, setcompanyCountryif they share a country, tickeuRoleOnly. - Set a maximum spend per run. Run it, then filter on rows with a
bestEmail. - For names that came back blocked or with no email, use
contactPageUrlin the row to reach the company's own form by hand.
